While I enjoyed the catered meal (which is the reason I decided to visit the restaurant), the in house dining experience was subpar. I'm giving 3 stars because the catered food was excellent, but the in house food was nothing to brag about. I'm not going to give up just yet, as my visit was later in the evening, so the product may have been being held for too long (ribs and brisket were dry), but that's no excuse. If you can't put out quality products, don't put out products at all. I've been doing low and slow barbecuing for close to 15 years, and I've visited some of the best BBQ joints around, so I understand the difference between great BBQ and 'meh'. The menu is confusing if you haven't been here before (as seen by the multiple people with the deer in the headlights look). Prices are comparable to most BBQ shacks I've been to, so that's not really a factor. Sides were decent, but a bit pedestrian (mac & cheese and coleslaw). I will visit a few more times and update my review after I can form a true opinion.

Descriptive phrase: quick-service and friendly BBQ. Wisconsin isn't known for BBQ, but Dickey's is a chain so I thought I'd give it a go. I was curious to see how the fast-casual idea works with BBQ, and found Dickey's does it pretty well. It occupies a space in the New Berlin "downtown" by the library that has featured a number of failed businesses, though Dickey's did well redecorating and making the place have a unique, southern feel. You can order a number of meats and sides; the meats are cooked that day and cut in front of you. I ordered the 2 Meat Plate ($11.50) with sliced brisket and pork ribs with mac & cheese and BBQ beans. Prices were reasonable for fast food lunch, especially considering the amount you get. The beans were way too sweet for me, and the mac & cheese was just meh. But both meats were good, and their minor dryness was overcome by one of the few sauces offered. Plus: free soft-serve ice cream all day every day! Dickey's is a nice change of pace lunch stop, though not a BBQ destination.

Food is not very good. Small portions for a BBQ joint. It is like the fast food of barbecue, only way more expensive than it should be. Jalapeño beans are flavorless and undercooked. Coleslaw was probably the only part that passed muster. The meat was dry and the sauces lack creativity. The place was clean and had a good atmosphere, however, it is a mockery of BBQ and I will never be returning.

Updating my review to say I have since ordered large meal takeout twice since my original visit. The first time everything in the order was good. Second time - disappointed! I ordered takeout for 4 adults and as one of my sides, I chose the Caesar salad. Either they screwed up on the container size or the Caesar salad side is a major rip off. One tiny container smaller than a pint of salad to split between 4 people. I think we each had 3 pieces of lettuce. They also forgot the rolls, which is kind of a big deal when one of the sides was so small. I'll give them another shot, but I'm losing faith.

Outside looked great, inside did too. The food was disappointing. We tried the brisket, sausage, and pulled pork. Brisket was pretty dry, pulled pork was ok, sausage was more wet than good. The sides were pretty good, liked the fried okra. They probably need a little more training on how to cook the BBQ, the place has potential but needs work.

This is a greasy spoon, food-coma-inducing establishment, but it beats the standard New Berlin-lunch fare. I've had their food twice now, take-out and catered in for a work event. The turkey meat and mac & cheese were good. I would pass on the okra bites next time though. I found the dine-in service to be on the slow side, but they do a good job with catering, helping to layout the trays and dinnerware.

Stopped in the the first and last time. All I wanted was a pulled pork sandwich. I was dying for some BBQ . I told the guy slicing the meat what I wanted ..... And ... With a lot of sauce ! To go...I was handed my greasy paper bag ummm ok, drove off , took out my sandwich .... Oh c'mon ..NO napkins ! And REALLY !! NO sauce ! Uck'k kidding me, I asked " a lot of sauce " I was not told , nor did I see , any sauce. One must put your own sauce on SOMEWHERE in the restaurant . I email corporate , nothing was said about the situation , but they would give me a golden cup , ( 1 free soda ). Ooooo. And yeah, the pork.. eh, no flavor, nothing remotely special.

Friendly service, clean and family-friendly. Not as good as Famous Dave's, but adequate. I had the brisket sandwich. Meat was good, but i wish it were on a bakery roll instead of a soggy walmart roll. A little cheap on the portion sizes. But the free ice cream makes up for it.

Service was sub par. Menu seems like the place only expects catering orders. I got the pulled pork sandwich with Mac n cheese and BBQ beans. Food was ok. Hard to mess up BBQ. But the price is outrageous. Came to like $14. Will go back, but not with my gf. She was not impressed.

First time in Wisconsin. Pulled off interstate and saw a small sign for this place. The Brisket was one of the best I've had. Sausage was also really good. Didn't expect to find a southern style bbq spot this far north. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Good fast food barbecue. Convenient location for an easy lunch in New Berlin. Free ice cream and kids eat free Sunday. It is a little pricy for adequate BBQ.

Slow service. Online order wasn't started prior to me showing up to pick it up. They were out of mac and cheese some how. Be prepared to wait if you're going here. Food was only "ok". Soggy fries.
